Google’s Visual Dictionary

I’ve stumbled across a new use for Google’s image search – a visual dictionary for a foreign language. Can’t remember “lechuga” – type it in Google and check the images.

Don LaFontaine (1940 – 2008)

You may not recognize the name, but you certainly will recognize the voice. Don LaFontaine is responsible for more than 5,000 movie trailers and commercials, and will probably be immortalized by the phrase, “In a world…”.

Google Chrome

Throughout the U.S. people are relaxing for Labor Day holiday – except the folks at the Googleplex. Tomorrow morning Google will release a Windows version of their WebKit-based browser, Chrome.

iCal and Google Start Syncing

If you have ever struggled with the different methods available to sync your Google calendar with Mac’s iCal, then Google has a treat for you! Google has released CalDAV support and provided instructions on how to get iCal syncing every 15 minutes.

Adobe SWF Searching

Adobe has announced that it will begin to work with Google and Yahoo to improve indexing of SWF files. Google has already started indexing these files, and provided an interview with two software engineers on its Indexing Team.
