Dashcode Beta Released

Dascode Icon Apple has posted the Dashcode application for creating Dashboard widgets in the upcoming Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard). Could this be Apple’s first step at opening the iPhone’s “widgety” OS to 3rd party apps?

I hope you are right but then again Steve Jobs did say that 3rd party apps could crash the network (he should try harder next time). Apple has recently become very held down by its DRM and iTunes is a good example, therefore they have not found the need to innovate. I think if Cisco Systems gets what they want (concerning the iPhone vs iPhone lawsuite) it might be the best thing which came out of the iPhone.

Let’s hope so! The gang at Engadget even thinks Apple might be releasing it’s stronghold on iTunes DRM.

I don’t know I think that Apple to come to that conclusion without being forced to is being to optimistic. Don’t get me wrong Im a big fan but I have not seen true inovation coming out from them for awhile. The fact of the matter is that if they don’t watch out they are on a good track to become microsoft with better design.

By the way I really like the concept of your blog, just crashed upon it but its very clever. I find myself occasionally trying to educate the general public about DRM (you wouldn’t imagine how some people have never thought of how iTunes can screw them over)

I’ll link you hoping people will inform themselves more (two sentences is perfect as no one has the patience now a days)

    Cheers,
    Christian

It’s a mad world, where no one stops long enough to grok the overwhelming glut of information. I’m glad you’re enjoying my blog, Christian! I’m adding the Groupster to my blog links, so I can share some traffic.
